[T.K. JOHANSON] An attractive woman in her 40s, she is sharp and bemused, with a wry sense of humor and a cool refusal to be easily intimidated. A journalist with Consumer Currents Magazine who covers new household appliances, she meets Stottlemeyer during an investigation, and soon has a smitten Police Captain on her hands. Not at all upset with the notion of a suitor with a big badge, she refuses to reveal her first name to him, a move that has “cool romantic ploy” written all over it. Having created an invention that transforms Monk’s life for the better, Kurt finds that he has a doting, starry-eyed fan named Adrian Monk — who can’t leave him alone when his vacuum cleaner breaks down. But in fact, Kurt is a man with a secret: he’s a front man for the real inventor, and killed the two men who already know his secret.
