5:16Now showing clip.5:17Elisha Cuthbert in cornrows is a bit off-putting.5:19absolute silence when the lights come on.5:19Q about inspiration of THE GRAUDATE.5:20Adam Pally: I’m not familiar with that movie. [snark]

David Caspe, Creator & Executive Producer Yes.
5:20Q about having friends split up.5:21Adam Pally: Yes, my parents. Their parenting skill was to be friends.5:21Q about gay character not being obviously gay.5:21David Caspe, Creator & Executive Producer: I don’t know anybody who has a group of friends that is all white and straight.5:22Q to Adam Pally about character5:23Adam Pally: I get a lot of comments. “You’re so great.” I think it’s a leap forward in acting and comedy.

Damon Wayans, Jr.: And mankind.
5:23Q to Elisha & Eliza about the fact they look similar and whether they’ll dye hair.5:23David Caspe, Creator & Executive Producer: They do play sisters.5:24Eliza Coupe: I thought I would wear a ball cap. All blonde woman look the same.5:24Q about inter-racial couples being more frequent. is it a trend?5:25Eliza Coupe: Our relationship is real.

David Caspe, Creator & Executive Producer: I based it on my group of friends and there happens to be an inter-racial couple.

Jonathan Groff, Executive Producer: The matter-of-fact presentation of it. It’s not the point. But we’ll explore it when we have the chance to.
5:25Q to Elisha Cuthbert about Bo Derek hairdo5:26Elisha Cuthbert: it took 4.5 hours to put in the cornrows. I had to wear it four days. I was actually shocked at seeing the shape of my head. I have a good shaped melon.5:26Elisha Cuthbert: The shock was when they took them out and the fro that I had.5:27Q to Elisha Cuthbert about whether she was annoyed about critiques that she was always kidnapped.5:27Elisha Cuthbert: There’s no complaining on a show like that. If you make an audience feel something.

In this show, I leave him at the altar. That’s not exactly a way to get the audience to love me.
5:28Q to Elisha Cuthbert about whether she was looking for an ensemble comedy.5:29Elisha Cuthbert: I just knew that I wanted to be part of something I was passionate about. At that time the script came, and it was a little daunting. These guys have been helping me. When it came my way, I said “Wow” it might be the right next step.5:29Q to Elisha Cuthbert about GIRL NEXT DOOR.5:29Elisha Cuthbert: that was fun to bring some reality to that character.

This is great. It’s been really comfortable. Sometimes we have too much fun.
5:30Q about whether we’ll see the guy Elisha’s character runs off with.5:31Jonathan Groff, Executive Producer: He’s really a great guy and really funny. We cut some stuff from the pilot and we’ll use some of that footage is a future episode.

He won’t be recurring but he could make another appearance.

Dave might go find him and kick his ass.
5:31Q to Damon Wayans, Jr. about whether he asked father for suggestions.5:31Damon Wayans, Jr.: I did. He told me a lot of stuff. Told me to have fun. He didn’t give me any rules to go by.5:31Q to Damon Wayans, Jr. about whether he wanted to do a show after seeing his father.5:31Damon Wayans, Jr.: what show is that?

I started out as a writer.
5:32Adam Pally: There’s not that much humor in the Wayans family. It’s very grim. They were grew up in France.5:33Damon Wayans, Jr.: It’s to the point where nothing is really funny because everything is saying funny stuff.

I referred to myself as Damon Jr. when I did stand-up unless ticket sales were low. When I first started though I was Kyle Green.

I just got back from Irvine and did two shows with my dad. It was a blast.
5:34Q about whether the story is arced at all5:35Jonathan Groff, Executive Producer: We dealt ourselves a pretty seismic hand at the end of the pilot and we want to deal with that. But we do want to make sure that the episodes can stand alone.

It’s sort of an in between answer, actually.
5:35Damon Wayans, Jr. is very self-amusing. Making hand motions and smiling to himself.5:37Q about bad relationships.

Damon Wayans, Jr.: I had a girlfriend whose front tooth wasn’t real. She would laugh with her tongue in her mouth to keep the tooth in. I made her laugh hard, she spit the tooth out, and put her foot on it to cover it up like it was drugs. We broke up that night.
5:38Adam Pally: I used to date Dame Helen Mirren. She broke up with me at Wimbledon in a way some people propose…on the big screen.

Journalist: You do know that sarcasm doesn’t translate to print.
5:38Q about other friends.5:38David Caspe, Creator & Executive Producer: they have other friends, but they’re not extremely likable people.5:39Jonathan Groff, Executive Producer: Penny (Casey Wilson) is going to be dating a lot.5:39[Comment From Nathan ] Where is Casey Wilson?5:40@Nathan: Don’t worry. She’s still in the show. They talk about Penny frequently.5:40that was the last question.5:42Wow. They ran the talent offstage fast. No onstage questions, except a few for Elisha. They’re sending everybody else to the red carpet for tonight’s party. (Part starts in 5 minutes, supposedly.) And there goes Elisha.5:42[Comment From SitcomsOnline ] Zachary was good on FLASHFORWARD, hoping his character is just as a nice guy on this show? Maybe he can finally be with Keiko on this show since he got left at the altar!5:44@SitcomsOnline: The Producers did mention that Zachary’s character Dave will be dating a lot, and not just the high-schooler in the pilot. I’m guessing he’ll alternate between the sympathetic character and the guy who’s obnoxious just because he’s trying too hard. Would be funny if he dated Keiko on this series though.5:44[Comment From tvgal ] how did david caspe seem?5:46@tvgal: He seemed like he’s pretty well grounded. He kept talking about how these characters better reflect his friends than anything on TV. It also seems like Jonathan Groff will be doing more of the EPing than David — just an observation based on how they answered questions.

He really seems to enjoy that the cast has fun, and he responded well to some of their jokes.
5:46[Comment From SitcomsOnline ] Eliza: Is your character more girly on this show from your [scrubs] character (aka Jo from Facts of Life)?5:48@SitcomsOnline: The handlers took Eliza off-stage right away.5:49OK.
